Refined coconut oil starts out as dried coconut meat. Because coconut oil producers frequently dry the meat in open air, it can gather hazardous bacteria and pathogens, so any oil extracted from it needs further purification before it’s safe to consume.
Our unrefined coconut oil starts with fresh coconut meat rather than dried, ensuring that the extracted oil is sanitary without the need for further purification. The resulting coconut oil is safe for use without bleaching or deodorization.
Beyond providing customers with the skincare benefits of coconut oil, Pure Haven is also committed to supporting fair trade principles and practices, so we use certified fair trade coconut oil in our products.
What does certified fair trade mean?
It means that this ingredient comes from farms that have been certified to provide fair wages and safe working conditions.
