New Year, New Resolutions

New Year, New Resolutions

Resolutions to lose weight and get organized are so 2018! This year, make a resolution to remove harmful, toxic things from your life.

Toxic Friendships

Everyone has them. Those toxic friendships that you just can’t seem to break free of. They can take a toll on you, depleting your energy and monopolizing your time. Whether it’s someone who’s manipulative, someone who’s physically, mentally, or emotionally abusive, or someone who’s just plain not fun to be around, those toxic friends can bring way too much negativity into your life. Make this the year to cut the ties. You deserve to be surrounded by people who comfort you, support you, and help you flourish. Stop accepting invitations to hang out with those toxic friends, and even delete them from your social media contacts. Make an effort to connect with new people who have interests and ambitions similar to yours.

Toxic Foods

Processed, packaged convenience foods contain little to no nutrition and usually have to be sweetened, fortified, preserved, and “flavor enhanced” to be edible. Cooking from scratch with whole, unprocessed foods is healthier and more cost effective, especially when you consider the amount of money and energy wasted in getting food from farm to factory to store to table. Start planning meals ahead of time and cooking in batches for the week to maximize your time and minimize stress.

Toxic Ingredients

You know how important it is to read the labels on your foods. Remember to read the labels on your home and personal care products, too. Protect yourself and your family from the myriad harmful ingredients found in various products. In order to protect their “trade secrets,” manufacturers aren’t required to disclose the ingredients in their products at all. Household cleaning products are among the most toxic everyday substances to which people are exposed. Everything from dermatitis to headaches to cancer have been associated with harmful chemicals used in everyday products to clean furniture, bathrooms, clothing, and even our bodies. Choose non toxic products to keep your family safe.
